because if you don't tell the world about your running, are you even really doing it? (just kidding)

tapering: not as fun as it sounds

ok, so i have lots of updating to do. fortunately, i haven't been slacking on the running as much as i have on the posting! i managed to get my runs for the week in while i was in philadelphia, though it was sort of challenging.

last week: the mini-taper

monday - off
tuesday - 6.5 miles intervals (i wrote about this in the last entry)
wednedsay - off
thursday - 75 minutes outside (many hills!) in philadelphia, over 7.5 miles, i'm sure
friday - 42 minutes outside (6 X 100 S after 30 minutes of running) - about 4.5 miles
saturday - 4 miles on the treadmill (at 6 am . . . before the wedding!)
sunday - ok, this was really done on monday, but i'm pretending it wasn't a day late: 10 miles treadmill

total = 32.5 miles

this week: the real taper

the plan . . .

monday - off (well, really 10 miles, but let's pretend)
tuesday - off
wednesday - 15 minutes easy, 4 x 400S, 15 minutes easy
thursday - 3 miles, 6 X 100S
friday - rest
saturday - 2 mile jog (i might do this friday instead - we'll see!)
sunday - marathon!!!!!!!!!

i'm excited already! and totally scared out of my mind . . .

Let me wish you luck NOW while I am sitting still long enough to do so...GOOD LUCK!!

Make a race day friend (or two!); remember to eat and drink; breathe in AND out; left foot, right foot; SMILE; and know that the RBF is out there cheering for you!

Run smooth and strong!
